23. Lights, Stars, Music: A Date at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre

For an atmospheric night of theatre, entertainment and romance you cannot beat the Open Air Theatre at Regent’s Park. Because of the glorious British weather, the Open Air Theatre only runs during the “summer” months (May to September) but it is a must for anyone who hasn’t been. Last year’s Crazy for You was an all-singing-all-dancing extravaganza and I loved every minute of it. The show wasn't something I usually would jump at to go see, if it was showing in the usual West End theatres, but at Regent’s Park it was an absolute treat!

I went with a friend and we both agreed we had wasted a perfect date opportunity on each other.  With the whole auditorium and overhanging trees all lit with fairy lights, it really is quite romantic

In the interval there is a bar to get some drinks and a few snacks ,including very more-ish fudge, but you definitely want to have a proper meal before you go. There isn’t a whole lot of choice of restaurants in the immediate area but Soho isn’t too far away and has countless options.

Tickets range in price a lot with the cheap seats starting at under £20 and the best seats (those at the front, lower tier centre) being around the £50 mark. This year there are two shows - Ragtime The Musical and the classic Midsummer Night’s Dream and both are open for bookings now so get your tickets asap!

I cannot recommend this enough for anyone who enjoys theatre and especially musicals, but wants to try something unique and, best of all, away from the West End!!

TOP TIP Don’t underestimate how cool it gets when sitting outside for 3 hours! Take a jumper! Boys, bring an extra jacket or blanket to snuggle up under with your date.
